Now, this is definitely a valuable lesson for the middle schoolers I teach. Anxiety runs high about making even the slightest mistake. We try to encourage them to try, fail, try again, etc. The recursion of trial&error is important.
However, I’ve also been attempting to take this phrase into my own life. I’m trying to be gentler with my own errors. The iterative process of always becoming a better person is a slow one. But always worth it.
Even my push to write more, craft more, get outdoors more: this is me seeing where I’ve gone wrong in the past and, without judgement, work to fix it as I continue on.
